The Guesthouse
The village guesthouse has six simple, yet elegant and comfortable bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathroom. The other four bedrooms share two common bathrooms. Please note that although the ensuite rooms are pleasant and cosy, they are smaller than the non-ensuites and have sloped ceilings (see photos to the left).
The guesthouse was historically the vicarage in the village. The buildings date back to the 1920's and are a cosy, calm and comfortable holiday home or group gathering place. There is a dining hall as well as quiet corners for reflection and relaxation. The shared sitting area with river view is a cosy space to read or share a conversation.

The guesthouse is located in the center of the village Junosuando by the main road.

Junosuando Village
Junosuando (pop.350) has a school, library, a small grocery shop, a pub, a handicraft café, a bus station and a movie theatre. There are movies on most Sunday evenings in the winter. There is also a community run indoor swimming pool that is open in the winter a few evenings each week. There are street lamps and lights from the village houses but there is no strong light pollution so you can see the Northern Lights from the village.
The first settlers came to Junosuando around 375 years ago. For most of the village's history people have lived on subsistence farming, hunting and fishing. In the 1960's and 70's many people were employed in the forest industry. Today many villagers are employed within industries connected to iron mining. Although there has always been a living reindeer herding tradition in the area, there are very few Sámi people living in the village today.

Groups meetings and events at the guesthouse
The guesthouse's personal and homely enviroment is the perfect place to relax and get to know each other or work as a team. The entire house can be rented for your group's private use. We'll cater meals according to your preferences and take care of all the practical details around your stay. If you wish, supplement your schedule with some of our inspiring nature based activities. Please specify your audio-visual needs and any special requests with booking.
